The Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel
Tropicana Hotel PoolThe Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel has a beautiful pool area, with cascading waterfalls, surrounded by tropical gardens. The main pool is huge, (covering an area of 12,000 square feet), and there is an adults-only Lagoon Pool. There is also a third pool, the 'Garden Pool', which is located away from the main pool and is therefore quieter. The amenities in the Tropicana Pool area are second to none. The poolside Coconut Grove Bar provides a fun and relaxing environment, and during the summer months, there is even a swim-up blackjack game, with a special waterproof table and a heated drop-box, to dry paper money. There are also 3 outdoor spa pools, to help you to relax in complete luxury. In addition to the 3 outdoor pools, the Tropicana is one of the few hotels on the Strip that has a heated indoor pool, which allows swimming all year round. Tropicana Hotel Shows & EntertainmentFrom Tuesdays - Saturdays, the Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel hosts performances of 'The Soprano's Last Supper', which is a fun, parody of the award-winning TV show involving singing, dancing and audience participation. The audience will enjoy an Italian dinner while mixing and interacting with the members of the Soprano family. The hotel also hosts nightly performances of 'Hypnosis Unleashed', in which Terry Stokes and Michael Johns produce a hilarious and risque show arising purely from the power of suggestion. Yet more comedy can be seen in the regular performances by renowned comedian, Bobby Slayton. If you want a show that is great for children, you can't beat 'Xtreme Magic Starring Dirk Arthur'. Arthur performs with all kinds of exotic animals including the traditional Vegas white tiger, in a show that is both fascinating and fun. Tropicana Hotel Rooms & SuitesThe original Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel was built in 1957, making it one of the older hotels on the Strip. Although further towers have been built since the original construction, the most recent of these was built in 1986. Therefore the Tropicana Hotel rooms & suites are not the most modern on the Strip. However, this is made up for, by the low prices of the rooms. The 3 room types are:
For those who need more space, the Tropicana Hotel has a number of suites in the Paradise Tower, and its luxurious jacuzzi suites are located in the Island Tower. Although accommodation in the Tropicana is low priced, you should be aware that, on top of the quoted price, the rooms are subject to an additional 'resort fee' of approximately $8 per night, which covers entry to the gym and the pools, and unlimited local calls from the phone in your room. Tropicana Hotel Business FacilitiesThe Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel has a large Convention Center, which offers over 100,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space. The center also offers general business services, such as facsimile and photocopying services, and rentals of equipment, such as cell phones and computers. A high-speed wireless Internet service is available from the Convention Center, and for those who want to relax while catching up with their e-mails, the Wi-Fi is also available by the pool and in the hotel rooms. However, you should be aware that there is an additional daily charge of approximately $12 per room if you choose to use the Wi-Fi. LocationThe Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel is situated just south of the MGM Grand Hotel, and across from the Excalibur. This is in the southern part of the Strip, which is lively, with lots to see and do. However, this location is a good walk (or a short bus ride) from the main central Strip activity.
