The Las Vegas Sahara Hotel
The Las Vegas Sahara Hotel, first opened in 1952, is one of the oldest hotels on Las Vegas Strip. The hotel is filled with nostalgia, as it has, for over 5 decades, been famous for its world-class acts, by performers such as the Rat Pack, the Beatles, Elvis Presley and Tina Turner. CasinoThe Sahara hotel casino is the only casino offering 24/7 $1 Blackjack. The hotel's ongoing $1 promotion also offers $1 beers, $1 hot dogs, $1 shots. Therefore this is the perfect place to get the full Vegas experience on a lower budget. The Casino also contains all the latest slots, a wide variety of table games, a race & sportsbook, and a poker room, which holds daily poker tournaments. PoolThe Sahara Hotel pool is fairly small, but is a nice relaxing environment, with comfortable poolside chairs, and a poolside bar. For those who require privacy by the pool, there are also cabanas for rent.
ShowsThe Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas has been well known for over five decades, for its class acts. The hotel currently hosts "The Magic & Tigers of Rick Thomas", in which award-winning magician, Rick Thomas performs extraordinary illusions, involving his beautiful Bengal Tigers. The Sahara Hotel is also currently showing "Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack Show", featuring the voice of the legendary Buddy Hackett in a comedy production, which brings you the hits of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr. Alternatively, you may want to visit the Sahara's award-winning Comedy Club, "Comedy Stop", which has gained a reputation for finding some of the best new talent in the world of stand-up comedy, many of whom have now become household names. AccommodationThe rooms in the Las Vegas Sahara Hotel are old and may appear slightly dated. However, they are cheaper than many other strip hotel rooms and the standard room is good value for those on a tight budget. For those with a larger budget, there are also luxury suites available. Be aware that, on top of the room fee, there is a daily resort fee of approximately $6. Also, if you use the Internet, this will cost a further $12.99 per day. LocationThe Las Vegas Sahara Hotel is at the North end of the Strip and so is a short bus or monorail ride from the central Hotels. However, the rooms are generally cheaper than in the hotels in the center of the strip and the hotel has its own monorail stop, thus enabling quick and easy transportation to the rest of the Las Vegas Strip. |
