Although the Las Vegas Riviera Hotel is one of the oldest hotels on the Strip, the interior of the building has
recently been modernised and the hotel has been awarded a three-diamond AAA rating.
Despite this, the hotel is reasonably priced, making it one of the Strip's good value hotels.
Attractions & Amenities
The Las Vegas Riviera Hotel is probably better suited to older tourists, who don't expect trendy or glitzy nightclubs.
However, it is still packed with fun things to see and do, including:
- Pamper yourself with a relaxing massage at the Aqua Massage Relaxation Station
- Treat yourself to a hairstyle or beauty treatment at the hotel Beauty Salon
- Relax by the pool in the Oasis Pool Complex, with a speciality cocktail or soft drink
- Browse through the shops, where you can find the perfect souvenir or gift, or pick up some snacks or a newspaper
- Try your luck in the newly refurbished casino, which covers 100,000 square feet of floor space and offers a large variety of slots,
table games, and a race & sportsbook. Test your poker skills in one of the regular poker tournaments.
- Dine in one of the hotel's six restaurants and cafes - choose from fine gourmet dining, a quick snack, or the hotel buffet
- Spend an evening being entertained by one of the Las Vegas Riviera Hotel's many top rated shows
Shows
The Las Vegas Riviera Hotel has two long-running shows, which are 'Ice: Direct from Russia'
(a spectacular display of acrobats performing on a frozen stage), and the famous 'Crazy Girls' topless show.
The 'Crazy Girls' show has been running for many years, and the hotel proudly displays a bronze sculpture of the show's
performers at the front of the casino.
The Riviera hotel also houses one of the best Comedy Clubs in Vegas, with a different selection of hilarious acts each week.
There is also the Bistro Theatre, which features various singer impressionists and the amazing comedy hypnotist, Dr. Scott Lewis.
Accommodation
Although the Las Vegas Riviera Hotel is old (it was first opened in 1955), the decor and furnishing are stylish and comfortable.
As a minor point, you should be aware that there is an additional $3.50 energy surcharge per room per night. Also, you are
required to pay a small charge if you want to use the hotel room safe.
Location
The Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas is located in the Northern area of the Las Vegas Strip, opposite the
Circus Circus Hotel & Casino
and is therefore a good walk or a short bus or cab ride to the main Las Vegas Strip tourist attractions.
However, the Bus Duece, stops right in front of hotel, and so tranportation to the rest of the Strip is easy and convenient.
