No-one wants to pay more than they have to, for anything. This especially applies to large purchases, where even a small percentage discount can result in a worthwhile saving. Therefore, its looking at special deals before booking your Las Vegas hotel.

If you are a big gambler, you might get your room comped by the hotel, but the rest of us need to make sense of all the different Internet sites offering hotel rooms, and pick out the deal that gets us the room we want, for the best price.

With this is mind, this page has been set up to guide you through some of the best Las Vegas hotel deals on the Internet.

Discount Sales

At times when a business is either :

Attempting to increase its profile
Attempting to win your business at any cost, in the hope that you will purchase other (more profitable) products
Attempting to maintain sales in a traditionally quiet period
Forced to lower prices in order to compete with other businesses
Passing on discounts from a supplier

... one technique that they may use is to offer hotel rooms at a discounted rate.

Although this clearly eats into a company's profit margin and, in some cases, may even result in a loss on an individual transaction, the company will generally reap some benefit and therefore has a valid reason for offering the discount.

The important thing to understand here, however, is that you too, genuinely can benefit from the 'sales' and 'offers' that are advertised by companies in today's increasingly competitive market. The trick is to keep your eye open, and make sure that you always book with an established company, with a known name that you can trust. Also, make sure you always read the terms and conditions before booking.

Best Price Guarantees

In many cases, you will find "lowest price guarantees" in which the company offering the booking will promise that, if you find the same deal at a lower price after booking with them, they will refund the difference or cancel your booking without penaltes, so that you can take advantage of the lower price.

The company offering the deal will frequently not be beat on an equivalent booking ... However, even if better deals do appear, the company will still generally makes money with this offer, because, many people booking with them will never bother to check prices once they have booked!

If you are willing to keep an eye on prices then it is a good idea to book under a "lowest price guarantee" and if you do find a better equivalent deal, make sure you do claim back the difference or cancel the first booking to take advantage of the better offer.

Be aware that the guarantee will only be valid for an equivalent booking - ie. it must be for the same type of room, in the same hotel and for the same time period. Make sure that you always read the terms and conditions of any guarantee, prior to booking your room, and only entrust your credit card details to reputable companies, using secure payment sites.

Money Back Offers

Some offers take the form of rebates. If you book your hotel through the company, and then complete a form giving your details, including your booking reference, the company will return a sum of cash back to you.

This offer is advantageous to the company, because, as well as attracting more business, they initially get the full booking fee. If you fail to follow the procedure for claiming your rebate, within the specified time period, the company gets to keep your payment.

Therefore, these deals are not good for individuals who can't afford to initially pay the full fee, while the application for the rebate is processed. These deals are also not suited to those who are disorganised, or are unlikely to complete the cash back claim form in the required timeframe. However, if you are the sort of person who will make sure they correctly follow the procedure for claiming your rebate, this may be a good value deal for you. - You are effectively profiting from all those people who don't bother to claim back their rebate.

Once again, make sure you only entrust your money to reputable companies. Also, make sure you read the terms and conditions of any offer you want to take up, as you will find that there are usually some bookings that do not qualify for the rebate offer.

Resort Credit

Many hotels offer "resort credit" if you book 2 or more nights stay at their hotel, through their site. This is great if you are planning to dine / gamble / use the spa / see a show / etc in the hotel that you are staying in.

However, this credit can often take the form of vouchers, which can only be redeemed on specific services. Therefore, you may not be able to use them - or you might find yourself spending more money than you would have done, just to make use of the vouchers! For example, you might find yourself spending $100 on a meal at a gourmet restaurant, just to make use of your $20 resort credit voucher, even though you would otherwise have spent just $30 on a meal!

Before you take up a deal involving resort credit, read the terms and conditions and ask yourself if the savings are on services that you would like to purchase anyway. If so, that's great - this may be the best deal for you! But if not, you might be better off taking advantage of some of the other types of deals that are on offer.
