Las Vegas Excalibur Hotel
The official website of the Las Vegas Excalibur Hotel uses the slogan "fun, not fancy", and this describes the hotel perfectly. The Excalibur Hotel, which is based on King Arthur and Camelot, is built in the shape of a Medieval castle. Unlike most Las Vegas Strip hotels, the Excalibur was designed for families, offering arcade games, a huge family pool, and the "Tournament of Kings" family show. More recently, the hotel has moved away from its focus on families. However, it is still one of the most fun-filled hotels on the Strip, offering :
The Excalibur also has the usual Vegas attractions and amenities, including a spa, the huge Excalibur Hotel casino, several bars & lounges, and numerous restaurants & cafes.
Excalibur Hotel Rooms & Suites
The basic rooms in the Las Vegas Excalibur Hotel are generally not overly extravagant, but they are clean and spacious, and good value for money. If you prefer something a little more fancy, the hotel has 2,000 remodelled rooms, known as the 'Widescreen Rooms'. These rooms have a 42" plasma screen TV, alarm clocks with iPod inputs, luxurious bathrooms, with granite tops, and the best views. Alternatively, the Guest Suites offer both style and space, and many are equipped with a luxury spa room. A mandatory phone 'resort fee' of $5.45 per night is charged for each room or suite. This covers access to the fitness center, two free drinks per room per stay, two free fantasy Faire midway games per room per stay, and free local & domestic long-distance calls from the telephone in the room. LocationThe Las Vegas Excalibur Hotel is in the southern end of the Strip, between the New York-New York Hotel and the Luxor Hotel, and is across the Strip from the Tropicana Hotel. As the surrounding hotels are all owned by the same company (MGM Mirage), there are free trams that run between the Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur Hotels. If you venture outside, you will find plenty more to see and do in the immediate area. However, this location is quite a walk (or a short bus ride) from some of the main centre-Strip attractions. |
